I was in need of a case for my Raspberry Pi Zero so looked around on Thingiverse for a suitable one. I wanted a simple case with no mechanical fasteners, just something to protect it and have easy “snap on” parts. I went with the model by cfunseth on Thingiverse, but soon realised it wouldn’t fit the new v1.3 version of the Pi Zero.
Original model is by cfunseth and can be found here – http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1227867.

The new v1.3 of the Zero has an extra camera port which sticks out the side of the PCD a tiny bit. The case is a perfect fit to the board, so it needed adjustment. I was going to import the STL into Tinkercad and just cut a hole for the port. But then I noticed there was a remix already done….
The remix for the base to allow the Raspberry Pi Zero v1.3 to fit with the extra camera port is by red9987 and can be found here – http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1589023.
My make can be found here – http://www.thingiverse.com/make:231725.
Fits well and snaps together perfectly after a little filing and sanding to get it just right. It’s better to be too tight with snap fittings and you can adjust down – rather than it being too loose, and just not working! Now my Raspberry Pi Zero v1.3 is snug and secure, thanks Thingiverse, as always!
